Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry, Kaan Orhan,Rohan Jagtap, Editör, Springer Nature, Zug, ss.33-42, 2024
Artificial intelligence, or machine learning systems, was born through the efforts of researchers in medicine and engineering jointly. While some researchers tried to discover the human mind, others focused on creating machines that imitate humans. Indeed, they were united in a common goal: the transfer of a human mind to the machine.
The use of various systems has become widespread with the developments in computer systems and data production, especially in the last decades. It would be helpful to understand the times when the relevant systems were emerged in understanding what should we expect from such system and what are their capabilities.
In this chapter, the important developments from the time period when the question “can a machine think” arose to the present day are presented, and thus, it is aimed to contribute to the understanding of the relevant systems.
