Distance learning consists of
different factors such as lecturers, courses, materials, technological
infrastructure etc. We researched and analyzed all of the main components of
distance learning in one of our previous studies. As a result of that study, we
discovered the most important components of distance learning are about
technology–based components. But, technology is a main and wide field that
contains lots of various sub–criteria. Some of these sub–criteria are about
totally technical details like ingredients of the software, software quality,
security of the system, friendly user interface etc. Therewithal, students’
technical competency, lecturers’ technical competency, digital documents, the
impact of the improving technology on education are also contained by the
technology components. In this study, we aim to find out the sub–criteria that make
the technology–based components much more important than the others. To this
end, we will use Grey Analytic Network Process (G–ANP) to determine the most important
technological factors and sub–factors of distance learning with the network
structure. First of all, experts who is working on distance learning will be
interviewed to determine the criteria. After determining the criteria, the
pairwise comparisons among the criteria will be evaluated to the students who
is in distance learning system. In the end, after the grey ANP analyses, we
will rank the technological factors of distance learning according to their
importance weights.
