Üniversite düzeyindeki öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri programları farklı nedenlerle tercih ettikleri söylenebilir. Bu nedenler arasında ilgi duyduğu bir alanda öğrenim görmek, sonraki öğrenim kademeleri için basamak olarak kullanmak ve mesleki gelişimini devam ettirmek gibi amaçlar yer alabilmektedir. Bununla birlikte üniversite öğrenimi süresince de öğrenim gördüğü programı tercih etme nedenlerini göz önünde bulundurarak programa karşı memnuniyet durumunu da değişebilmektedir. Çünkü süreç içerisinde programı tercih nedenlerine bağlı olarak beklentilerinin karşılanması veya karşılanamaması gibi sonuçlar ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin öğrenim gördükleri programı tercih etme ve bu programlardaki memnuiyet durumlarını incelemektir. Bu sayede öğrencilerin beklentilerinin karşılanmasına yönelik sonuçlar elde edilebilecektir. Çalışma nicel tekniklerle yürütülmüştür. Bu kapsamda tarama modeli ile verilerin toplanması sağlanmıştır. Katılımcılar İstanbul ilindeki bir devlet üniversitesinde öğrenim gören birinci ve ikinci sınıf öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Tüm katılımcılar çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Veriler önceden hazırlanmış bir anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizleri yüzde ve frekans şeklinde çalışmada sunulmuştur. Çalışmanın bulguları arasında, katılımcıların önemli bir çoğunluğunun mesleki becerilerini iyileştirmek amacıyla bu programları tercih ettiği sonucu yer almaktadır. Bununla birlikte katılımcıların bir kısmı daha iyi yaşam şartları elde etmek, sonraki öğrenim kademesine ulaşmak ve önlisans diploması sahibi olmak amacıyla bu programları tercih ettiklerini belirtmiştir. Katılımcıların neredeyse yarısı programdan memnun olduğunu belirtirken diğer yarısı ise memnun olmadığını belirtmiştir. Memnun olma nedenleri arasında, beklentilerin karşılanmış olması, iyi bir üniversitede öğrenim görüyor olmak ve samimi öğretim elemanlarının olması öne çıkmaktadır. Memnun olmama durumları ise programın coğrafi uzaklıkğı, mesleki açıdan yetersiz olduğunun düşünülmesi ve yanlış tercihte bulunmuş olmak gibi nedenler dikkat çekmektedir. Çalışmanın önerileri arasında, öğrencilerinin memnun olmama durumlarının çözüme kavuşturulmasının sağlanması yer almaktadır. Ayrıca öğrencilerle yapılacak bu tür uygulamalar ile düzenli olarak öğrenci memnuniyetinin izlenmesi sağlanmalıdır.
It can be said that university students prefer the programs they study for different reasons. These reasons may include studying in an area of interest, using it as a stepping stone for the following levels of education and continuing professional development. However, the satisfaction level of the program may change by considering the reasons for choosing the program during the university education. Because, depending on the reasons for choosing the program during the process, the results such as meeting their expectations or not meeting them may occur. The aim of this study is to investigate the preferences of university students and the satisfaction status of these programs. In this way, it will be possible to obtain results for meeting the expectations of the students. The study was conducted with quantitative techniques. In this context, data was collected by scanning model. Participants consist of first and second year students studying at a public university in Istanbul. All participants voluntarily participated in the study. The data were collected in a pre-prepared questionnaire form. The analysis of the data is presented in the form of percentage and frequency. The findings of the study indicate that a significant majority of the participants preferred these programs in order to improve their professional skills. However, some of the participants stated that they prefer these programs in order to get better living conditions, to reach the next level of education and to have associate degree diploma. Nearly half of the participants stated that they were satisfied with the program and the other half stated that they were not. The reasons for being satisfied are meeting the expectations, studying at a good university and having sincere lecturers. The reasons for dissatisfaction are that the program is too far from stayed place, considered to be inadequate in terms of profession and wrong university choice. Suggestions of the study include dissolving dissatisfaction of students. In addition, regular monitoring of student satisfaction should be ensured through such practices with students.
