Özet

This study to identify the attitudes of the forest managers at the regional managers’ level towards the problems related to processes such as production, socio-economic conditions, and sales, organizational and legal processes concerning. The study site is İstanbul constitutes nearly 21 % of the country’s population and has an important potential when the internal market and labor force are considered. Regional Directorate of Forestry of İstanbul covers a large responsibility area is another criterion to be preferred to study on. Within the scope of the study, a questionnaire study was applied, and it was handled in two stages in the evaluation. The first part includes the questions that inquire information about the characteristics of the questionnaire participants such as information about the sub-district directorate, the length of service, age, gender, and educational information. The second part defines 5 different dimensions about production. In the study, t-test was used to determine the difference between groups, reliability analysis for data reliability, one-way MANOVA tests were used to determine attitude. According to the results of the survey, forest managers show that they have positive attitudes towards the development of ODOU production in their regions, but they are broadly concerned about the legal, administrative and technical adverse effects of production, especially contributing to the livelihood of the public. Responses perceived negativities generally show uniformity regarding the production process within the environmental, legal and managerial framework.
