15 (wt%) Ni loaded on Al2O3, MgAl2O4, CeO2 and ZrO2 were synthesized by the deposition-precipitation method and tested in the oxy-CO2 reforming of methane. It was found that the specific surface area, the type of support and its surface properties are important parameters for the deposition-precipitation method. The results showed that higher metallic Ni concentration and higher surface area increased the catalytic activity and selectivity. The effect of Ni loading amount on Al2O3 was investigated and the catalytic activities were found to be close for 10 (wt%) and 15 (wt%). Among the catalysts tested, 15 (wt%) Ni/Al2O3 catalyst prepared by urea deposition-precipitation method was found to be a good alternative for oxy-CO2 reforming of methane.
