Özet

On February 6, 2023, two devastating earthquakes occurred in Türkiye. Fault rupture, ground motion, liquefaction and co-seismic landslides caused damage to transportation networks. Transportation was interrupted for a few days. The fault rupture was close to or crossing many roads and bridges, causing significant displacements. Only two bridges collapsed, both from secondary effects of the earthquake, one from liquefaction and one from falling rock. Considering the magnitude of two earthquakes and the proximity of many of the bridges to fault rupture, bridges performed remarkably well. This paper presents the earthquake response of the bridges and the tunnels in the region.
