Özet

Keratin has emerged as a promising natural biopolymer owing to its excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability and the presence of rich

functional groups. However, current keratin sources often suffer from limited availability, batch-to-batch variability, and complex extraction

processes, which restrict their broader application. In this study, we present a patented human hair-derived keratin platform that transforms an

abundant biological waste into high-value functional biomaterials. The extracted keratin was structurally characterized and used to develop

multifunctional biomaterial systems. The proposed platform demonstrates broad application potential in tissue adhesives, hydrogel systems,

and bio-derived energy storage materials. These findings highlight that human hair-derived keratin is not merely a natural polymer but a

versatile building block for next-generation functional biomaterials.
