Özet

The main problem of the study is the diversity and quality of local government practices for disabled people living in the city and how effective they are in the social participation of disabled individuals. The importance of the study is to evaluate the services of district local governments in Istanbul for disabled people from a sociological perspective. It is essential to assess local policies in benefits for disabled individuals in the study. This study aims to evaluate the local government service policy for disabled people living in Istanbul. While doing this, a qualitative research design was used with 15 participants working in district local governments. According to the research results, it has been determined that there is a need for local management of public services for disabled people and coordination of services carried out by different public institutions. This coordination will increase the diversity and quality of services for disabled people. Local governments must increase the variety of services to support families in disability care. The number and quality of support services must be improved, especially for health and social support.
