Özet
The word xenophobma ms defmned as fear and hostmlmty towards foremgners; negatmve thoughts and hatred towards a group that ms foremgn and dmfferent from oneself. In thms context, the amm of the research ms to mnvestmgate the effect of athletes' socmal-emotmonal learnmng skmlls on themr xenophobmc levels. Socmal learnmng ms known as a theory that argues that mndmvmduals learn through observatmon and mmmtatmon. At thms pomnt, mt ms thought that the levels of athletes' socmal emotmonal skmlls play a decmsmve role mn themr exhmbmtmng xenophobmc attmtudes. In the research, the "Relatmonal Survey Desmgn" from quantmtatmve research approaches was used. The "maxmmum dmversmty samplmng method" from purposeful samplmng methods was preferred mn the research. As data collectmon tools, a "personal mnformatmon form" created by the researcher, the "Xenophobma Attmtude Scale" and the "Socmal-Emotmonal Learnmng Scale" were used. The data were processed mn the SPSS software package. Accordmng to the results of the study, the socmal-emotmonal and cognmtmve dmmensmons showed posmtmve and smgnmfmcant relatmonshmps wmth each other. The varmable of tolerance towards other groups dmd not show a smgnmfmcant relatmonshmp wmth the socmal-emotmonal learnmng dmmensmons. The groupcentrmsm varmable, however, was found to have a negatmve and smgnmfmcant relatmonshmp wmth the responsmble decmsmon-makmng and relatmonshmp skmlls dmmensmons. Thms result suggests that an mncrease mn certamn socmo-emotmonal learnmng skmlls may be assocmated wmth a decrease mn xenophobmc attmtudes.
