Distance and cosine similarity measures are the most convenient ways to verify the degrees of similarity and distinction between two sets. In this study, new measures of distance and cosine similarity between Fermatean fuzzy sets are given. Initially, the definitions of the new measures based on Fermatean fuzzy sets were given and their properties were examined. There may be cases where the similarity measure conditions of the cosine measure do not apply. In this case, a method is proposed to create new similarity measures between two sets according to the initially given measures. The new method provides the similarity measure condition. The new measure between Fermatean fuzzy sets is derived from the idea of the association between the distance and cosine measures.
