Özet

This study aims to analyze the content and evaluate the quality of videos about Leopold’s Maneuvers on YouTube. The current research is a mixed-method study. The videos scanned by the YouTube using the term “Leopold’s Maneuvers.” One hundred videos with the highest number of views were selected, and 38 videos. A descriptive form and Video Information and Quality Index (VIQI) were used in the quantitative evaluation of the data. Furthermore, view rates and interaction index were calculated. The content analysis approach was employed for the qualitative evaluation of the data. The mean number of views per video was 113.17 (1.83–977.37). The mean value of the interaction index for the videos is 273.47 (22.89-1695.70). The VIQI score for the videos is 16, with a range of 14 to 19. Leopold’s Maneuvers were mostly shown on pregnant women in the videos. Six main themes were identified in the study, which were as follows; Preparation Phase, 1st Leopold’s Maneuver, 2nd Leopold’s Maneuver, 3rd Leopold’s Maneuver, 4th Leopold’s Maneuver, and Ending the Process. According to the coding matrix, the Preparation Phase was the most mentioned theme, whereas Ending the Process was the least mentioned theme. All phases were mentioned, although partially, about Leopold’s Maneuvers on videos. Educators can use high-quality YouTube videos with strong VIQI scores to teach Leopold Maneuvers and combine them with hands-on training for a comprehensive education. Addressing content gaps, such as underrepresented phases, through the creation or endorsement of accurate videos can improve teaching materials. Additionally, guiding students to critically assess online content can strengthen their digital literacy and understanding.
