Pinus brutia is one of the main tree species in the eastern part of the Mediterranean region. Formation of multiple female flowers in Calabrian pine in the same year is interesting because it increases the annual cone yield. The present study is based on phenological observations on Pinus brutia trees which develop two spring shoots (second female flower) and the development process of female flowers. Cone samples were collected in order to determine the viability of the seeds in even-aged cone pairs. Statistically significant differences were found among the trees only in terms of the number of sound seeds in the second spring shoots' cones. There were no statistically significant differences between first and second spring shoots' cones in terms of the number of sound seeds and germination values. The sound seed ratio of the seeds extracted from first and second spring shoots' cones were 88% and 85%, respectively. The average overall germination percentages were found to be very close between the seeds of the first and second spring shoots' cones (83% and 86%, respectively).
