Aim: Maxillary lateral microdontia is a rare condition seen in the community with a prevalence
of 0.4-1.2%. Although this dental anomaly does not cause any dysfunctionality, it alters
patient’s aesthetical appearance which is important to treat. The purpose of this case report is
to describe a direct composite laminate veneer build up to treat the tooth with size anomalies.
Case Description: In all cases patients has good periodontal health and stable intercuspal
position. All coronal enamel tissue was etched and Single bond universal (3M ESPE, ) applied
with agitation according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Interdental spaces were filled with
light opaque composite resin. Semi translucent and translucent composite resins were applied
layer by layer respectively. Sof-lex discs were used for finishing and polishing.
Results: There are several options for treating the microdont lateral teeth including direct
composite bonding, indirect porcelain laminate. Direct composite restorations can be made if
you obey clinical procedures.
Conclusion: Direct composite laminate veneers have cost and time effective properties with
the necessity of none or at least amount of tissue removal.
