Nedim Gürsel’in Allah’ın Kızları, tarihsel ve güncel iki düzeyde kurgulanmış çok sesli bir romandır. Tarihsel düzeyde Hz. Muhammed’i romanın merkezine yerleştiren yazar, İnanç, şiddet ve ölüm sorgulaması yapar. İslam’ın doğuşu sırasında Kureyşlilerin putlara taptığı dönemi dişi putlara söz vererek öyküler. Hz. Muhammed’in özyaşamı ve İslam dinini yaymak için verdiği savaşım tarihsel gerçeklikleri içerisinde sunulur. Güncel düzeyde ise, Gürsel’i çağrıştıran bir çocuğun bakış açısıyla, Birinci Dünya Savaşı sırasında Osmanlı ordusunda subay olan dedesinin, Hz. Muhammed’in coğrafyası olan Mekke ve Medine’de Araplar ve İngilizlere karşı verdiği savaş öykülenir. Özkurgusal nitelikler taşıyan romanda, Anlatıcı-Yazar Gürsel, insanların inancına karşı büyük bir saygı besler.
The Girls of Allah, an auto fictional novel with several voices, is built in two historical levels: Aming a goal to question the belief and violence in Islam, Gürsel puts the Muhammed, the prophet, at the center of his novel and speaks to the reader about his private life. Moreover, it tells the history of a child, his childhood, which had been influenced bye his grandfather too much, a practicing Muslim. He fights as an officer in the Ottoman army during the First World War against the Arabs and the English in the middle-east front, including the geography of the Muhammed the prophet, particularly in Mecca and Medine. The Author-narrator, Gürsel, gives a large respect towards the Muhammed and his people.
