Sanat ve matematik farklı disiplinler olmasına rağmen ortak noktalara sahiptirler. Her ikisi de
insanların düşüncelerini ve yaratıcılığını ifade etmenin bir yoludur. Doğada ve günlük hayatta
birçok ortak ilkeleri bulunur. Bu çalışmanın gerçekleştirilmesindeki problem durumu, matematik
öğretimi ile sanat arasındaki ilişkinin durumu ve bu iki disiplinin entegrasyonunun ne şekilde
yapılabileceği konusundaki eksikliklerin bilinmemesidir. Bu disiplinlerin eğitim alanında hangi
içerik ve konular üzerinde gerçekleştirildiği ile ilgili bir çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Sanat ve
matematik eğitimi ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalardaki eğilimi tespit etmek gerekmektedir. Türkiye’de
bu iki disiplini içeren tezlerde eğilimin ne olduğu problem durumudur. Bu çalışmada matematik
öğretimi ve sanat ile ilgili lisansüstü tezlerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sistematik derleme
çalışması olarak gerçekleştirilen çalışmada toplam 57 tez taranmıştır. Araştırmalar; yıl, araştırma
türü, yöntem ve desenlerine, çalışma gruplarına, sınıf düzeylerine, çalışma grubunun sayısal
büyüklüğüne, matematik konularına, sanat dallarına ve konuların dağılımına göre analiz edilmiştir.
Matematik öğretimi ve sanat en çok 2019 yılında çalışılmışken araştırma türü olarak en sık yüksek
lisans tezlerine konu olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma grubunda öğrencilerle ve 6.sınıf düzeyinde
çalışılmıştır. Çalışma grubunun sayısal büyüklük en fazla 31-60 kişi aralığında belirlenmiştir.
Araştırmalarda sırasıyla en sık nicel, nitel ve karma yöntem kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma
deseni bakımından en çok deneysel yaklaşımlar tercih edilmiştir. Matematik içeriklerinde geometri
ve işlemler en fazla araştırılmıştır. Sanat dallarından en çok drama öne çıkmıştır. Araştırma
konularına göre çoğunlukla akademik başarı araştırılmıştır. Bu araştırma son yıllarda matematik
öğretimi ve sanat çalışmak isteyen araştırmacılara alanyazının özetini sunmaktadır.
Art and mathematics have common points although they are different disciplines. Both are a way of
expressing people's thoughts and creativity. There are many common principles in nature and life.
The problem in carrying out this study is the lack of knowledge about the relationship between
mathematics teaching and art and how the integration of these two disciplines can be done. There is
no study on the content and topics on which these disciplines are carried out in the field of education.
It is necessary to identify the trend in studies on art and mathematics education. The problem is what
the trend is in theses involving these two disciplines in Turkey. This study aims to examine
mathematics teaching and art studies in postgraduate studies. A total of 57 theses were scanned in
the study, which was carried out as a systematic review. Research: years, research type, methods
and designs, study group, grade levels, numerical size of the study group, mathematics subjects,branches of art, and distribution of subjects were analyzed. While mathematics teaching and art were
studied the most in 2019, it was revealed that it was the most frequent subject of master’s theses as
a type of research. The study group was studied with students at the 6th-grade level. The numerical
size range of the study group was determined to be between 31-60 people at most. It was determined
that quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods were used most frequently in the studies,
respectively. Experimental approaches were mostly used as research design. In mathematics content,
mathematical operations and geometry are the most researched. Among the branches of art, drama
came to the fore the most. According to the research subjects, mostly academic achievement was
investigated. This research summarizes the literature for researchers who want to study mathematics
and art in recent years.
