Özet

Aquaculture is a sustainable food source for people in today and in the future. Fish

and seafood consumption is important for human health because of its oil content and

minerals, etc. On the other hand, diseases prevent sustainable production and cause

economic losses in aquaculture industry. The drugs misuse or use for the prevention

fish diseases such as bacterial, viral and parasitic origin, remain residue on the

products, impact public health and causes animal deaths. As a result of this situations,

precautions and prophylacy before diseases become important place. Many products

are used in feed additives and diets to improve growth, antioxidant capacity,

immunity and resistance to diseases. In recent years, interest in use of insect larvae as

an alternative protein source in aquaculture has increased. Thus, Black soldier

fly(Hermetia illucens) larvae and its products such as meal and oil are used in

aquaculture. Several studies conducted the positive effects of these products on

growth and immunity in fish. In this oral presentation, it was aimed to mention the

use of black soldier fly larvae on fish diets and explain its possible potentials on fish

health with evaluate current studies and emphasize the topic importance for

researchers to further studies.
