Bu çalışma, kitlelerin otoriteye itaat ve kolektif şiddete eğilimini sosyolojik boyutuyla ele alan ve sinematik bir dille anlatan Die Welle (2008) filminde yer alan sahne ve diyalogların söylem analizi yöntemi ile incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Filmde yer alan, kolektif şiddetin ve itaatin inşa aşamalarını seyirciye gösteren on üç sahne seçilmiş olup sahnelerde yer alan diyaloglar söylem analizi yöntemiyle incelenerek literatür eşliğinde değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda, (1) karakterlerin temsil ettikleri kimlik, (2) karakterlerin temel söylem kalıpları ve (3) filmde işlenen karşıtlıklar (antagonist-protagonist) dahilinde analiz çerçevesi oluşturulmuş ve görsel olarak aktarılan sembollerin örtülü söylemi analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda karakterlerin temsil ettikleri kimliklerin “ılımlı, radikal, yönlendirici vd.” şeklinde oluşturulduğu; karakterlerin temel söylem kalıplarının “yabancı düşmanlığı, ayrıştırıcı, çoğulcu vd.” olduğu ve filmde işlenen karşıtlıkların “anarşi-otokrasi, Alman-yabancı, rasyonel-akıldışı otorite vd.” şeklinde oluşturulduğu görülmüştür. En sık kullanılan görsel simgelerin ise karakterlerin kıyafetleri ve sosyokültürel arka planları aracılığıyla aktarıldığı görülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda, söylem analizinin gerçekleştirilmesiyle söz konusu filmdeki temel iletinin açığa çıkarılması sağlanmıştır. Adli dilbilim ve söylem analizinin yöntemleri aracılığıyla film repliği veya propaganda metinleri gibi düz yazıların yanı sıra adli görüşme kayıtları ve duruşma diyalogları gibi birçok sözlü içeriğin de incelenmesinin adli süreçlere yardımcı olacağı ve akademik çalışmalara temel oluşturacağı açıktır.
This study was carried out with the method of discourse analysis in order to analyze the scenes and dialogues in the movie Die Welle (2008), which describes the tendency of the masses to obey the authority and collective violence with sociological dimension and conveys it in a cinematic language. Thirteen scenes in the movie that show the construction stages of collective violence and obedience to the audience were selected. The dialogues in the scenes were analyzed with the method of discourse analysis and evaluated in the light of literature. In this context, an analysis framework was created within (1) the identity represented by the characters, (2) the basic discourse patterns of the characters, and (3) the oppositions (antagonist-protagonist) processed in the film, and the implicit discourse of the visually transmitted symbols was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that the identities represented by the characters were formed as “moderate, radical, pioneer etc.”; the main discourse patterns of the characters were “xenophobic, segregationist, pluralistic, etc” and the contrasts in the film were “anarchy-autocracy, German-foreign, rational-irrational authority etc”. It was also found that the most frequently used visual symbols were conveyed through the clothes and sociocultural backgrounds of the characters. As a result of the study, the main message in the movie Die Welle was revealed by the discourse analysis. It is clear that examining many oral contents such as forensic interview recordings and trial dialogues -as well as movie lines or propaganda articles- through the methods of forensic linguistics and discourse analysis will help the judicial processes and form the basis for academic studies.
