Özet
This paper introduces a novel compact monopole antenna which consists of truncated rectangular patch and feedline, and an SRFT-based tool capable of generating application-specific matching circuits. The monopole antenna is fabricated to validate the accuracy of the proposed approach. The antenna prototype is fabricated using RO4725JXR material with dimensions of 50×50×0.78 mm3, resonating at 2.9 GHz and 6 GHz. According to the measurement results, the antenna provides two distinct operating bands: one between 2.2 GHz to 3.44 GHz and another between 4.28 GHz to 6.68 GHz. By inputting the S-parameters of the antenna into the developed tool, application-specific and wider bandwidth matching networks were generated to enhance its performance. With two different design examples, the antenna’s return loss characteristics have been improved to reach −30 dB between 3.3 GHz to 3.8 GHz, and −40 dB between 4.4 GHz to 5 GHz. In the final design example, the tool facilitated an increase in bandwidth, enabling the achievement of below −10 dB within the extended operating range from 1.77 to 7.1 GHz. Additionally, the tool has incorporated parts outside the original band in the antenna’s operation. All design outcomes were obtained utilizing CST, Keysight ADS, and MATLAB software programs.
