Özet

Hobnail hemangioma is a benign solitary vascular tumor, occurring usually in young or middle-aged people and located on extremities or trunk. This rarely seen tumor was known in the past as targetoid hemosiderotic hemangioma. A 29-year-old female patient , presented with a red-brown papule on the lateral aspect of fourth digit of her right hand, of one year duration. On histopathological examination of the lesion, increased and dilated vascular spaces in the upper dermis and narrower split form vascular spaces in the deeper parts of the dermis were observed. The endothelial cells lining the vascular spaces had a hobnail appearance. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that the endothelial cells were positive for CD31. The diagnosis of "Hobnail hemangioma" was made on consideration of the clinical and histopathological findings. We present this case because of its rarety in the literature.
