The forest roads are main facility in carrying out
main forestry activities such as wood production, forest management,
afforestation, firefighting, protection and social activities. The protective
structures and drainage structures are used to forest road construction. The
protective structures are different type walls and the drainage structures ate
pipes, culverts, bridges, water-bars and dip drains. The drainage structures
are usually constructed after the forest road construction. The drainage
structures are protective forest road safeguard against destructive effect of
water. The planning and construction operations of the drainage structures are
very important in that long-lived forest roads, safety and economical.
Especially, the mistakes during drainage construction planning are constituted
major problems for forest roads. These problems are mistake of positioning of
drainage structures, dimension mistake, material choosing mistake and
construction mistakes of drainage structures. This study was realized in Şile,
Demirciköy and Bahçeköy Forest Administrations. In this study, the drainage
structures were investigated in these different regions. Inside drainage
structures were found false ones together with right ones. Besides, the
planning, construction operations and positioning of drainage structures were
investigated. In the results, locations and constructions of some drainage
structure have been determined to be incorrected and errors have revealed. The
some suggestions were made according to in study results.
