Paraneoplastik sendromlar (PNS), vücutta tümörden uzakta, neoplazinin dolaylı etkileri sonucu ortaya çıkan bir grup sendromdur. Bu sendromlar; organizmanın birçok sistemini etkiler. Birçoğunun etiyolojisi bilinmemektedir. Malignitenin ilk belirtisi oldukları için paraneoplastik sendromların tanısı oldukça önemlidir. Erken tanı ve sağaltım, hastanın yaşam kalitesini ve prognozu olumlu yönde etkiler. Sağaltımları için, çoğu kez, primer tümör odağının vücuttan uzaklaştırılması gerekir.
One group of syndromes that occur in the body due to the indirect effects of neoplasia distant to the tumor are described as paraneoplastic syndromes (PNS). These syndromes affect most of the organ systems. The aetiology of most paraneoplastic syndromes is unknown. Since they are the first sign of malignity, diagnosis of the syndromes are quite important. Rapid diagnosis and treatment of these syndromes can help to improve quality of patient’s life and will have a better prognosis. In general, the removal of the primary tumor for treatment is necessary.
