Aim:The aim of this study was to determine the professional belonging levels of final-year midwifery university students and the influencing factors. Methods:The study was conducted with final-year students studying at Midwifery Departments of different universities in Istanbul. The data were collected between August 5-September 15, 2020 by using an online questionnaire that includes a "Question Form" asking emotions, thoughts and choices about the profession and the "Midwifery Belonging Scale" examining the belonging levels. Continuous data were presented as mean, standard deviation and median; categorical data were presented as frequency and percentage.. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to determine the normality of data. Mann Withney-U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to compare the midwifery belonging scale score of independent variables. P values less than 0.05 were considered significant. Results:172 students completed the study. The average age of the students was 21.70±1.36 (min: 19-max:33), mean weighted grade point average was 2.94±0.35 (min: 2.00-max:3.87). Median score of Midwifery Belonging Scale was 99 (min:24-max:110). The median scores of Midwifery Belonging Scale were found to be higher in students who think that they have sufficient knowledge about the field they want to work, is believing that she can do her profession with love, and those who do not intend to leave the profession after graduation (respectively; p<0.001; p<0.001; p<0.001). Conclusion:Our findings showed that level of belonging of the midwifery students is close to the upper limit and there is a relationship between their level of belonging and some professional feelings, thoughts and choices.
