This study examines the drivers and barriers impacting the adoption and diffusion of artificial intelligence (AI) in public administration. Key drivers, categorized by technological, organizational, environmental, and human factors, are explored as facilitators for effective AI integration. Conversely, significant barriers such as cybersecurity, data privacy, budget constraints, and infrastructural limitations are identified, posing challenges to AI implementation. The study employs an integrated ISM- MICMAC framework to map these drivers and barriers, offering insights into their interdependencies and influence within the public sector. The findings identify key drivers and barriers that must be addressed by strategic initiatives to fully leverage the potential of AI in enhancing public service delivery and administrative efficiency.
