Özet

Laboratory-scale groundwater models are valuable tools in understanding groundwater hydrodynamics. In this study, an experimental setup called as the Stream-Aquifer-Hyporheic Flow (SAHR) Chamber has been developed to simulate horizontal groundwater flow within a stream-aquifer environment. The SAHR Chamber features a straight stream bed on one side for simulating a simple stream and a sinusoidal stream bed shape on the other side to simulate a meandering stream. This study specifically focuses on modeling a straight stream-aquifer system. Within this goal, a sloped stream water table was generated within the straight stream bed and the groundwater head measurements were recorded at various locations within the aquifer in time. Subsequently, we compared the collected data with an adapted analytical solution to assess the precision and performance of the SAHR Chamber.
