Özet

This literature review focuses on the revolutionary material known as light-transmitting concrete (LTC), or transparent concrete, emphasizing its potential for reducing the carbon footprint. This review explores various aspects of transparent concrete, starting from its manufacturing process and the materials involved, including its chemical composition, which contributes to its unique properties. Additionally, it examines the mechanical, physical, and durability characteristics of transparent concrete while highlighting research and tests conducted on its light-transmitting and microstructure features. The importance of utilizing eco-friendly materials in construction projects such as LTC is highlighted. This can lead to CO2 reduction and energy savings. This review also discusses the current and potential applications of transparent concrete, such as its integration into building designs and infrastructure projects. Finally, this study assesses the advantages and disadvantages of transparent concrete, with a particular focus on its potential impact on energy efficiency, aesthetics, and other relevant factors, underscoring its role in reducing electricity consumption and lowering the carbon footprint of transparent concrete, and how it might affect energy efficiency, aesthetics, and other factors.
