Özet

The petrographic, mineralogical and geological analyzes of the samples taken from the regional geological

studies and the excavation made about the lithologic material from which the lithological material was

supplied to the excavation area. As the petrographic investigations have been observed to be one-to-one

overlaps, the origins and formations of each building material are derived from clay-claystone deposits

from Ayancık and its vicinity. On the other hand, except for those used in the wall braids of the volcanic

material, an important part is around Boyabat. Tuff, tuffite and basalts were taken along a line extending

from Boyabat to Çangaldağ. Erfelek, Hanönü and Fasili are marl, limestone and dolomitic limestones.

The Boyabat area and the Akveren clayey sand, carbonated sand and sandstone were considered as areas

of development. It is understood that almost all of the volcano-clastic rocks in the tombstones and in the

walls and windows are supplied from here because they are not identical to the volcanics in the Sinop

peninsula. Some volcano-sedimentary rocks were also taken from these places.

The possibility that the marbles and metamorphics encountered in the excavation area were taken from the

southern parts of Boyabat or from the masses in the Elekdağ Ophiolite were also seen in the petrographic

examinations. Granite granodiorites and basalts are also associated with this ophiolitic unit.

Archeogeophysical studies were carried out in the balatlar church and two- and three-dimensional images of

the underground were obtained. Utilizing these images, relevant high anomalous locations were excavated

and architectural elements such as tomb, floor, wall, foundation, channel were determined.
