Recurrent bronchiolitis present an important problem during infancy. Since this period is pertinent to transient hypogammaglobunemia period, children at this age have a particular tendency to infections. In this study, 0.2 g/kg IVIG was administered twice at 4 week intervals to 20 children who had 2 or more bronchiolitis attacks, and these patients were surveyed for 6 months periodically. When our results were compared with a similar group of patients not receiving IVIG, a significant reduction in the number of bronchiolitis attacks was seen. For this reason IVIG can be considered as an efficient treatment in the prevention of recurrent bronchiolitis.
