Abstract

ABSTRACT BODY: In electronics, steerable filters are used in many vision and image processing tasks, such as, texture analysis, edge detection, image data ompression, motion analysis and image enhancement. In steerable filters, the irectional properties of the raw input data can be easily found out, compared to classical low, high and band-pass filtering approaches, since steerable filters can be considered as band-pass filtering for a specified direction. In this paper, we have applied steerable filters to boundary extraction of synthetic examples in geophysics. Streeable filters are applied on gravity data which produced as synthetic then we applied real gravity data from Marmara Region NW Turkey and we try to determine boundary of tectonic structure. As finally we obtained tectonic map of Marmara region
