Acquiring critical thinking skills in school life, especially in primary school; is important for students to grow up as individuals who can make inquiries by noticing what they think, how they think, the reasons that push them to think, and to make the right decisions by overcoming problems. This study aimed to determine the general trends of the studies on critical thinking skills conducted in Turkey between the years 2018-2021. Document analysis method was used in the research. In the selection of the documents, the National Thesis Search Center of the Higher Education Council, Google Academic search engine, ULAKBİM and ERIC databases were used. The data obtained from the study were interpreted by giving frequencies with the help of figures and tables. As a result of the research, the survey model which is one of the quantitative research methods in the studies was used the most; the sample was primary school 4th grade students, and the most frequently used measurement tool was the Critical Thinking Scale developed by Demir (2006). It was seen that applications for critical thinking was used mostly in Science and Turkish lessons. In the results of the research; primary school teachers' awareness about critical thinking skill was high, primary school teacher candidates’awareness were at a medium level and primary school students’awareness were at a high level. It was determined that all of the experimental studies were positively effective and it was concluded that critical thinking skills were not sufficiently included in the textbooks and curriculum.
