1st INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP OF TEACHING AND LEARNING CONGRESS, İstanbul, Türkiye, 18 - 20 Nisan 2025, cilt.1, sa.1, ss.96, (Özet Bildiri)
This descriptive study examined the global future perceptions of nurse educators in Turkey. The sample
of study population consisted of 142 nurse educators who met the inclusion criteria teaching in nursing
departments in the province of Istanbul. Data were collected using the "Descriptive Information Form"
and "Perceived Global Future Scale" and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics. The findings showed that
95.8% of nurse educators increased their concerns about future global problems due to Covid-19, 87.3%
of them said that these problems led them to think that the future was not predictable and 92.3% of them
said that the measures taken affected the course of the pandemic. Most of the nurse educators (62.7%)
stated that they had difficulty in controlling students' participation in the course during the pandemic.
Educators answered yes to the question about whether they would like to work with a humanoid robot
to a great extent (54, 9), the majority (69.7%) thought that humanoid robots would facilitate their work
as their own employees in the workplace, whereas the majority of the participants (47.9%) thought that
working with humanoid robots in the workplace would leave people unemployed in the future. When
the mean scores of the educators were analyzed, it was determined that the highest mean score was
obtained from the "Future of the environment" sub-dimension and the lowest mean score was obtained
from the "Future of biotechnology" sub-dimension. In line with the results, environmental sustainability,
future, robotics and artificial intelligence issues should be included more in nursing education and global
future studies should be increased. Educators should adapt to future trends and global changes and
related research should be increased.
