Orman Mühendisliği bölümünün geçmişten günümüze kadar geçen
süredeki gelişimi ele alınmış olup, cumhuriyet öncesi ve sonrası eğitimde
gelinen durum ortaya konmuştur. Başta eğitim, buna bağlı olarak müfredat ve
akreditasyon süreçlerinin incelendiği Orman Mühendisliği Bölümünün mezunlarının
iş alanları da değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada bölümün öğretim kadrosu, bölümleri,
alt yapı ve laboratuvar kapasiteleri de açıklanmış ve bununla birlikte yurt içi
ve yurtdışı eğitim öğretim olanakları sunulmuştur. Bölümün misyonu; orman,
çevre ve ilgili diğer doğal kaynakların, sürdürülebilirlik ile çok yönlü
faydalanma ilkelerine ve ekosistem yaklaşımına uygun olarak, yönetimini,
işletilmesini ve denetimini, toplumsal bilincin oluşum ve gelişimini
sağlayacak, orman mühendisleri yetiştirmek olarak belirlenmiş, vizyonu ise;
Ormancılık alanında ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde araştırmalar yapan, öğretim
ve eğitimde öncü bir bölüm olmak olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu bağlamda bölümün
geleceği için öngörülen hedefler kapsamında ise öncelikli olarak iklim
değişikliği ve sürdürülebilir ormancılık konularının daha kapsamlı eğitim ve
öğretim hayatına sokulmasının amaçlanmaktadır. Diğer yandan bölümün ulusal
ölçekte olduğu gibi uluslararası ölçekte de saygınlığını artırıcı akreditasyon
sürecinin devamının sağlanması da yine gelece dönük amaçlar içinde yer
almaktadır
The development of the Department of Forest Engineering from
the past to the present has been discussed and the situation in education
before and after the republic has been revealed. The job fields of the
graduates of the Department of Forest Engineering, in which education,
curriculum and accreditation processes are examined, are also evaluated. In the
study, the teaching staff, departments, infrastructure and laboratory capacities
of the department are also explained and domestic and international education
and training opportunities are presented. The mission of the department is to
train forest engineers who will ensure the management, operation and supervision
of forest, environment and other related natural resources in accordance with
the principles of sustainability and multidimensional utilization and ecosystem
approach, and the formation and development of social awareness, and the vision
of the department is to be a pioneering department in teaching and education,
conducting research in the field of forestry at national and international
level. In this context, within the scope of the goals envisaged for the future
of the department, it is aimed to introduce climate change and sustainable
forestry issues into more comprehensive education and training life. On the
other hand, ensuring the continuation of the accreditation process that
increases the prestige of the department on an international scale as well as
on a national scale is also included in the future goals.
