Abstract

This study explores the psychological impact of Art Integrated Existential Positive Psychology Intervention (ARTEPPI) on undergraduate social work students affected by secondary trauma from the February 6, 2023, earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye. Using a remote group intervention with 10 female participants, the research assessed meaning and purpose in life, general anxiety, and death anxiety through the Meaning and Purpose of Life Scale (MPLS), Death Anxiety Scale (TDAS), and Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS). Participants were divided into two groups and engaged in an experimental intervention. Study 2 revealed significant improvements in MPLS and BAS post-intervention, while Study 1 found no significant changes in MPLS and DAS. Pre-tests showed no relationships between measures, but a significant link between MPLS and DAS emerged post-intervention. These findings suggest that ARTEPPI can effectively address certain aspects of trauma recovery, though its impact may vary, warranting further research to refine its application.
