Detection of prenatal hydronephrosis has been rapidly enhanced by the developments in ultrason (US) technology. According to the experience of Cerrahpaşa Group: progressive increase in pelvic antenor-posterior diameter and caliectasis in US exams and deterioration in kidney function in repeated DMSA (Dimercaptosuccinic acid) scans seems to be the most important diagnostic and prognostic criterias as far as surgical and/or conservative treatment protocols are concerned.
