A 3-day-old male underwent laparotomy for gastrointestinal perforation. At surgery, a Meckel's diverticulum located 35 cm proximal to the ileocecal valve was found to be perforated at the tip. A4 cm ileal resection was done containing the diverticulum and one layered, end to end anastomosis was constructed. The histopathological examination confirmed a partially injured heterotopic gastric mucosa in the Meckel's diverticulum. The gastrin levels of the baby and his mother were slightly elevated. They were both serologically positive for Helicobacter pylori. The relation of Meckel's diverticulum perforation and Helicobacter pylori is questioned.
