The Materials Research Division is one of the largest departments in the Marmara Research Center (MRC) and devotes itself mainly to technology-oriented research activities on metals, ceramics and composite materials. The studies are focused on the advanced materials processing of metallic materials, alloys, ceramics and their composites with the purpose of developing stronger, durable, low cost, and environmentally sound materials with high added values. Within the Division, the Powder Metallurgy Project Group concentrates its efforts for the development of various types of composites and the PIM (Powder Injection Molding) of structural components keeping in view with the requirements of Turkish industry along with possible export potentials.
