Introduction: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is usually performed under general anesthesia. Recently, laparo-scopic cholecystectomy under regional anesthesia has become popular, but this creates a serious risk of thromboembolism because of pneumoperitoneum, anesthesia technique, operative positioning, and patient-specific risk factors.
