Özet

The aim of the study is to determine students's opinions on the

use of augmented reality applications in science class. The participant

group consists of 41 seventh grade students studying at a public school

in Istanbul in 2019-2020 academic year. The study was conducted

according to the case study of the qualitative research methods. In the

study, the interview form developed by the researchers was used to get

the opinions of the students. Content analysis technique was used to

analyze the opinions. For the reliability of the research, coding was

done by a faculty member who was an expert in the field and 2 Science

teachers. The formula (Miles and Huberman, 1994) was used for

coding reliability. Reliability was found to be 0.92. Research results;

shows that 82.9% of students are not aware of augmented reality

applications and 17.1% of them have the knowledge that these

applications are used only in the fields of game, health, astronomy and

entertainment sector. In addition, 78.0% of the students prefer that the

next science courses are taught with augmented reality applications

and 58.5% of them study in social studies, 47.8% in mathematics,

26.8% in English classes and 14%, 6 of them show that they want to

use augmented reality applications in all lessons.
