Abstract

Bone fractures are common in wild animals, especially arboreal ones. A raccoon belonging to a private zoo was brought to our clinic with a history of a dog attack. It was diagnosed with incoordination due to head trauma and a fracture of the middle diaphyseal humerus. The fracture was treated using an intramedullary partially threaded tipped pin. After the treatment, the raccoon was returned to the zoo for care and survival. After 4 months, the raccoon was able to use her arm as before.
