Assistant Professor Aylin Özakgül (RN, BsN, PhD)
I graduated from Istanbul University Florence Nightingale School of Nursing in 2001. After graduation, I worked as an intensive care nurse in a private hospital at Tekirdağ/Çorlu, Turkey. I started working as a research assistant in the Department of Nursing Fundamentals at Istanbul University- Cerrahpaşa Florence Nightingale School of Nursing in 2002. In 2005, I completed my master's education and in 2010 my doctorate education at Istanbul University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Fundamentals of Nursing.
In 2010, I participated in the Education of Educators for Home Care of ALS Patient collaboration with the Istanbul University, Neuromuscular Diseases Association and the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations at Oxford University. I took part in the Project carried out by the ALS-MND Association within the scope of Sabancı Foundation Changemakers Grant Program. I participated in national congresses and meetings as a member of the organizing committee and as a speaker, has national and international publications and events. My professional interests are care of stroke patients, caregiver training, neurology nursing, smoking addiction, nursing care. I am a founding board member of the National Association of Neurology Nursing.
