Ahmet Erdal OSMANLIOGLU was born in 1966 in Gaziantep, Turkey. He completed primary school in Gaziantep College and graduated from Gaziantep Anadolu High School. He received the B.Sc. degree in Mining Engineering, the M.Sc. in soil mechanics and the Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Hacettepe University, in 1990, 1992 and 1996, respectively.He has taken NPP education at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) in USA and RADON in Moscow. He attended Safety of Nuclear Power Plants and Solar Energy Systems Courses in Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA. He received Associated Professor Degree in the field of Environmental Science and Engineering in 2008.
He started to work as a Research Assistant at Hacettepe University in 1990. He joined the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority in 1993. He worked as Coordinator, Deputy Director (2009-2010) and Director (2010-2015) of the Cekmece Nuclear Research and Training Center in Istanbul. He has worked as Professor (Full) in Istanbul University between 2015-2018. Currently he has been working in Istanbul University - Cerrahpasa since 2018.
He has worked as a scientific member of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA). He knows English and Russian languages, He is married and he has two children.
