Özet:

Nowadays, biomaterials (Stainless steel, Co-Cr based alloys, Titanium and titanium alloys etc.) are used in the stabilization of musculoskeletal system to solve fractures and spinal degeneration problems.

In our study, we analyzed the activation of macrophages and sub groups (M1, M2a, M2b, M2c) which are the first triggered cells in the innate immune system mechanism by implanting Titanium and Titanium 500 into the spinal region in male Wistar albino strain, in order to control the specific inflammation events that may occur after implantation.

21 Wistar albino strain male rats were divided into three groups: Control (K) (n = 7), Titanium (Ti) (n = 7), Titanium 500 (Ti 500) (n = 7). Biomaterials (10 mm diameter, 3 mm thickness) were placed between L5 and L6 region in rats. Peripheral blood was collected on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th days. Serum CCL3, CCL4, CD163, CD206, CCL1, CD150 parameters were analyzed with ELISA method.

When compared to K and Ti group; increasing in CD163 on 1st day and CD206 on 5th day p<0,001***; when compared K and Ti 500 group; decreasing in CCL1 on 1st day p<0,001***, increasing in CCL4, CD206 on 1st day, CCL1, CCL3, CD206 on 3rd day, CD206 and CCL1 on 7th day p<0,001***; when compared to Ti and Ti 500 group; decreasing in CCL1, CD163 and increasing in CCL3 on 1st day p<0,001###, increasing in CCL1 on 3rd and 7th day p<0,001### in Ti 500 group was observed.

According to the results of our study, we believe that controllable low immune responses in Ti 500 implanted patients will guide the prevention of inflammatory reactions and development of immunological therapeutic methods.
