Biography
H. Tuncay Güner was born in 1984 in İzmir\Bornova. In 2007, he graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Engineering. He completed his master's degree in dendrochronology in 2010 and his PhD in palaeobotany in 2016 at the Forest Engineering Department, Forest Botany Programme of the same university.
Between 2018-2019, Güner worked as a visiting researcher at the Palaeobiology Department of the Swedish Natural History Museum for 8 months with an overseas postdoctoral research fellowship supported by TÜBİTAK. He continues his research on palaeobotany and dendrochronology.
In 2012, he started his academic career as a Research Assistant at Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry, and since 2018, he has been working at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Botany. Currently, he continues his academic studies as an Associate Professor.
