Our Research Group member Recai Arslan successfully completed his doctoral thesis in the Department of Forest Industrial Engineering under the supervision of Düzce University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Ayhan Tozluoğlu. Dr. Recai Arslan developed wood composite panels with low formaldehyde emissions and resistance to combustion within the scope of his research project.
New-generation adhesive formulations have been created by using various boron compounds specially designed and synthesized in production. The fact that 73% of the world's boron reserves are located in Türkiye is important for the sustainability of the project and its transfer to the industry.
A patent application was made to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office for the protection of the intellectual and industrial rights of the results obtained in the successfully completed doctoral project, and a scientific publication was made within the scope of the project.
Work continues successfully with ÇAMSAN ORDU A.Ş., one of the important wood based composite panel manufacturers of Türkiye, for technology transfer.
It is expected that the results of this thesis will contribute to the development of environmentally friendly furniture, parquet, doors, interior architecture, and design products.
