Dr. Alper Baran is a 1992 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Istanbul University in Turkey. He completed his doctoral thesis, freezing of dog semen, at the Institute of Health Sciences. For the past ten years, Baran has been at Istanbul University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he is a Professor of Department of Reproduction and Artificial Insemination. Dr. Baran is the director of the Andrology and Spermatology Laboratory. His research interests are primarily in the field of small companion animal reproduction (cats and dogs) and artificial insemination. Currently, Baran concentrates his efforts on novel approaches to intratesticular chemical contraception methods in especially cats and dogs.
