Biography
Born in April 16,1977 in Ankara, Dr. Niyazi Özgür Bezgin graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School in 1994. After his graduation, he began his engineering education in Hacettepe University Physics Engineering Department, which he continued in Polytechnic University Civil Engineering Department in 1999. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2001, he completed his M.Sc studies in 2002 and Ph.D studies in 2005 at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey Civil Engineering Department. Between the years 2005 and 2007, he worked in a New York based firm Langan Engineering and Environmental Services as a Design Engineer. Upon his return to Turkey in 2007, he worked as the Research and Development Coordinator of Yapı Merkezi Prefabrication Inc. until 2012 when he left the company to join Istanbul University Civil Engineering Department to conduct research on transportation structures. Dr. Bezgin is also a part-time lecturer in Bosphorus University Civil Engineering Department since 2010, lecturing his “CE 48D: Prefabrication in Structural Engineering” elective class in spring semesters.
