Biography
Dr. Halit Eren Taskin is a graduate of Uskudar American Academy and completed his medical education in Istanbul Bilim University Medical Faculty in 2008. He finished General Surgery residency at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 2015. During his senior residency years he has worked as a research fellow in Cleveland Clinic Department of Endocrine Surgery US between 2012-2013 mentored by Dr. Eren Berber. He has published 3 book chapters and 20 peer-reviewed International Publications during this period.
He has established bariatric-metabolic surgery program in Beykoz State Hospital between 2015-2017. He is experienced in Invasive Gastro-Intestinal Endoscopy and Endoscopic Treatment of Morbid Obesity. He has organized several International Meetings of which the recent being the 1st Mediterranean Congress on Treatment of Morbid Obesity and Metabolic Disorders and also he was one of the organizers of IFSO 2013 World Congress in Istanbul. His areas of expertise are Baritaric and Metabolic Surgery in Low-BMI patients, Advanced Bariatric Endoscopy, Endocrine Surgery and Medical Genetics and Surgigenomics. He is an active member of IFSO and numerous national surgical and medical societies. He is a member of IFSO-EC chapter Scientific Committee and Secretary Treasurer of Turkish Obesity Surgery Society.
He worked 1 year in Az-Sint Jan Hospital Brugges-Belgium with Prof.Dr. Bruno Dillemans as a Bariatric Surgery Fellow. He worked as the president of Young-IFSO between 2019-2022 and currently works in Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty, Department
